The BART on Aviles
Artists, art, and a wine bar create a unique venue.
The BART at 11D Aviles Street showcases well-known and new artists from Florida in a small contemporary gallery and wine bar. The gallery's goal is to share information about the artists and to let the artists share their perspectives. They choose art that is diverse and enjoy seeking newer, less well known artists as well as showcasing some of the area's more established artists.
Artist and collector, Phillip Castillo, has experience as a shop owner on St. George Street and has partnered with co-owner Dee Mahler, a business woman who has a culinary arts degree and has taken classes at Cordon Bleu.
As of the summer of 2023, featured artists at The BART include Dee Mahler, K.Sin, Kelly West, Ken Villario, Laura O'Neal, Lisa Myers, Obie Hunter, and Philip Louis.
The gallery opens at 10:00 a.m., every day. They are open until 3:00 p.m. on Sundays, until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and until 7:00 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays through Fridays.
