Fort Menendez at Old Florida Museum in St. Augustine offers guests with a living history of our nations oldest city! Here you will receive a map and then set out to explore the new Spanish settlement which was built next to the Village of Seloy where the native Timucua Indians lived. This exciting interactive experience allows guests to participate in the rich history of the fort. You will meet a guide whose helpful knowledge of Fort Menendez can show you all the amazing antiques and sites of the fort. However, there are twists and turns along the way such as, maybe your guide could be secretly recruiting you to the militia to help protect Fort Menendez!

Around every corner of this unique museum visitors encounter different characters of the past and can see and touch the old weapons, tools, and musical instruments of the fort’s original residents and even make some of your own artifacts! Come and depart on your voyage to the new world and experience all the joy and excitement the first settlers in Fort Menendez felt! General admission tours are $11.00 for adults, $7.00 for children age 6 to 18, and free for children 5 and under.

Educational tours for students are also offered at the Fort Menendez at Old Florida Museum, where students will receive a history of the fort and can make items from the period to take home. These tours are offered through three different themes; the first Spanish period in the Spanish/Fort Mose history in the Timucua Indian program, the first Spanish period in the Spainsh/Fort Mose program, and the American territorial period in the Pioneer Program.
