The Fountain of Youth Historical Park offers guests a chance to observe the first Spanish settlement in the new world. Founded by Spanish explorer Pedro Menendez de Aviles in 1565, the Fountain of Youth is on the site of the first and oldest continuous European settlement in North America. Long before the Spanish came to ‘la Florida’ the Timucuan Indian’s village of Seloy was established for nearly 3,000 years! Then in 1513, Juan Ponce De Leon claimed Florida for the Spanish crown, and no other colonies were successful until Menendez came in 1565.

The Fountain of Youth Archeological Park is a 15-acre, waterfront historical attraction. Here you can visit multiple interesting sites such as the Planetarium, the Native Timucua Village, the two story Discovery Globe mapping all the Spanish routes, stroll through the waterfront property where peacocks roam, and drink from the legendary Fountain of Youth waters all the while learning about our nation’s oldest city St. Augustine! There is free parking and also the park is pet friendly.

The large grounds of the Fountain of Youth attraction also make for great spaces for family gatherings, weddings or other special occasions. The beautiful waterfront location offers views of the Mantanzas River and St. Augustine Inlet.
