The Alexander Homestead is a charming bed and breakfast, located in historic downtown St. Augustine, Florida. It is the ideal place to spend a romantic weekend in the nation's oldest city. Convenient to the many historic sites, shops, restaurants, and attractions of the downtown area, the inn offers five rooms and one private suite to choose from, all lavishly decorated in Victorian furnishings true to the home's rich past.
This historic bed and breakfast was originally built in 1888 and was meticulously restored in 1991 by owner Bonnie Alexander, who opened it with a grand vision of creating "a magnificent historic inn stealing the hearts of St. Augustine's romantic tourists." Bonnie has successfully accomplished this goal since that opening day. The testimonials from her guests are proof of that.
Each of the six rooms at the Alexander Homestead is individually decorated with comfort in mind. Every room has a private porch, perfect for afternoon relaxation and rest. Private baths have either a whirlpool bath or claw-footed tub with a shower.
Coffee service begins at 8:45 a.m. outside the main house bedroom doors. Breakfast is served in the formal dining room at 9 a.m. Bonnie's breakfast has received numerous compliments from guests. She says, "Everything I prepare is first class ... eggs from the chicken farm, fruits from the fresh market, my homemade granola and delicious entrees, like Country French apple casserole, green chili egg puff over tostadas, or warm homemade almond syrup drizzled over French Toast."
